Brazilian Artist Stephan Doitschinoff - Novo Mundo

I have to say that I kind of see the whole skull thing in Latino art as played out, but this piece really strikes me as fresh. I especially like the sinking ship in the brain area of the head. The color sky blue and earthy colors combined with wall paper patterns and iconography, I get a sense of natural vs processed, and old vs new. Cool stuff. The Yes Men - NY Times Fraud

For those of you who haven't heard of the "The Yes Men", they are definitely worth checking out. They put out a movie, in 2004, titled "The Yes Men", that is super low budget, creative and hilarious (beware hamburger lovers). Here is how this group of artist describe themselves on their website:

"Impersonating big-time criminals in order to publicly humiliate them. Targets are leaders and big corporations who put profits ahead of everything else."

So the yes men pulled another brilliant stunt as described on Wired Magazine Blog:

"In an elaborate hoax, pranksters distributed thousands of free copies of a spoof edition of The New York Times on Wednesday morning at busy subway stations around the city, including Grand Central Terminal, Washington and Union Squares, the 14th and 23rd Street stations along Eighth Avenue, and Pacific Street in Brooklyn, among others.

The spurious 14-page papers — with a headline “IRAQ WAR ENDS” — surprised commuters, many of whom took the free copies thinking they were legitimate...read more

Protest Art against Police Abuse

This is the power of art. This is everything art should be, selfless, intriguing, and with a point. I could only imagine someone working in their garage making these pieces, only to sacrafice them in faith that they may have an impact so that that uheard voices of the community will be heard...I love it.

Raymond Crowe: Amazing Hand Shadows

There is nothing I love more is when people take the ordinary and take it to the extrordinary. This is a perfect example of that. Artist Raymond Crowe tells a great story with light and shadows. This video is definetly worth watching.

Salvador Dali - Ok This video you gotta see

The more I find on artist Salvador Dali, the more I like. This guy is over the top. Kind of reminds me of David Bowie on "Ashes to Ashes" video. I love the you tube comment on this that says, "if i'm ever rich and have no job this is what i'd do all day". Watching this made me more creative today.

Salvador Dali - Strange and Loving it

The thing I do like about Salvador Dali, is he went for it. He was totally committed at the risk of people possibly committing him. I am convinced he just got a kick out of tripping people out. What a great way to make a living. Here is a video of some of his antics

Salvador Dali Destino

Apparently unbeknownst to many people, Salvador Dali and Walt Disney collaborated on a animated piece called "Destino". I could only find a small clip of it on you tube, but I did see it a Los Angeles County Museum of Art in totality. It was the most amazing and beautiful animation piece I have ever seen. This clip doesn't do it justice, but it gives you just a taste.

Giant Doll Art

I am amazed at what drives people to not only think these kind of things up, but to execute on them. The work, coordination and vision that must have gone into this is mindblowing. The emotion of the Giant is amazing as well. Standing ovation!!!

Mark Ryden - Amazing Artist

Mark Ryden is one of my favorite artist. His combination of childlike images, goth, fantasy and traditional painting techniques are very cool. I would highly recommend checking out his site at markryden.com/

Kind of a cool video of faces painted artist Pablo Picasso from his different paintings morphing into each other. It really shows how varied his styles were

Andy Warhol Paints on Amiga Computer

Andy Warhol, probably one of the great artist of our time. I was always impressed how used the available technology of the time, pushing art forward away from the traditional mediums. Could you imagine what he would have done on the Internet.

Banksy Elephant

I am somewhat torn about painting an elephant, but I can't help but love this piece by Banksy. Not only the idea of painting an elephant, but how beautifully painted and putting in the context of a house setting...super cool.

Inflatable Subway Animals

This is the kind of art that gets me very excited and hopeful for our future. This idea is just brilliant. Inflatable trashbag animals animated by subway air. I love the simplicity, how it appear to be trash, using the subway, the element of surprise. Bravo to Joshua Allen Harris!!!

Jim Morrison: On the future of music

This clip of Jim Morrison from the 60's legendary rock band The Doors struck me as interesting because in the end he makes a prediction on the future of music. He says:

"I can kind of envision maybe one person with a lot tapes, machines and electronic setups singing or speaking and using machines"

Banksy: Pet Store - Art the way it should be

Banksy does it again. He is one of the few artist out there that I consistently like and continues to suprise me. His pet shop exhibit is brilliant, it is everything art should be, humorous, artistic, vague, selfless and super duper coolio!
